Liverpool head coach Arne Slot has stated that he is not concerned about Mohamed Salah ending his goal drought.
The Egyptian international has gone six consecutive matches without scoring for the club, appearing to lack his typical sharpness in front of goal.
This season, Salah has netted only three times, including one penalty, and had a brief appearance of 16 minutes as a substitute in Wednesday’s Champions League victory over Eintracht Frankfurt.

Salah’s goal-scoring ability has notably dipped since March, registering only five goals in his last 23 matches.
With Wednesday’s win marking the end of Liverpool’s worst run of results since 2016, the connection between Salah’s form and the team’s struggles remains a point of discussion. However, Slot remains optimistic.
“I can’t pinpoint whether it’s sharpness or something else,” Slot commented. “Players miss chances, and Mo is human too. Although we’re not used to seeing him miss opportunities, it can happen to anyone.”
“It’s often easier to convert when you’re ahead, but that may not apply to him,” he added. “What matters is that Mo has consistently scored for our club, and I have little doubt that he will find the net again soon.”
The influx of new signings this summer, totaling £450 million, has created some challenges, and Salah has felt the impact as much as anyone else.
Due to Trent Alexander-Arnold’s departure to Real Madrid and player injuries, Slot has utilized three different right-backs, including midfielder Dominik Szoboszlai.
“Salah often finds himself in promising positions to score, but factors like Trent’s absence could be contributing,” Slot mentioned.
“With many squad adjustments during the summer, everyone needs to rebuild their connections. Mo isn’t excluded from this, which may factor into his form.”
“Ideally, you’d want to start every game with the same lineup, but that’s unrealistic considering our packed schedule. Injuries have impacted several players, including Jeremie Frimpong, Conor Bradley, and both Ryan Gravenberch and [Alexis] Mac Allister, who missed pre-season.
Slot and Salah will both be eager for a resurgence in Salah’s form during Saturday’s evening match against Brentford. Salah has a strong record against the Bees, having scored six times in his last seven encounters with them.
Frimpong and goalkeeper Alisson Becker will miss the match due to hamstring injuries, while Slot awaits updates on Isak, who is dealing with a groin issue, and Gravenberch, who did not travel to Germany because of an ankle injury.
