Senegal’s challenge against the ruling that stripped them of the Africa Cup of Nations title is set to be reviewed on October 8.
The Confederation of African Football (CAF) deemed that Senegal forfeited the final against Morocco on January 18 due to their players leaving the field in protest over a penalty call late in stoppage time.
The match was still scoreless when the penalty was awarded, which was ultimately missed. Senegal managed to secure a 1-0 victory after extra time. However, on March 17, the CAF panel reversed the result, awarding Morocco a 3-0 win, prompting Senegal to announce their intent to appeal to the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) later that month.
CAS confirmed on Friday that a date for the hearing has been scheduled.
The court stated that the involved parties—the Senegalese federation, CAF, and the Moroccan federation (FRMF)—did not agree to expedite the proceedings, resulting in the case following a standard timeline.

The upcoming hearing is set to be closed to the public, and CAS has indicated that a verdict will not be announced on the day of the hearing.
The penalty awarded to Morocco following a VAR review sparked then-coach Pape Thiaw to lead his team off the field in protest.
Brahim Díaz missed the penalty when Senegal returned to the game, with Pape Gueye ultimately scoring the winning goal in the extra period.
