SheBelieves Cup: U.S. to…

The U.S. Soccer Federation has revealed the details for the 2026 SheBelieves Cup, featuring the Argentina, Canada, and Colombia joining the U.S. women’s national team in the tournament.

All three challengers are ranked 30th or above, with Argentina at No. 30, Canada at No. 10, and Colombia at No. 20. The U.S. women currently hold the second position, trailing only Spain.

Colombia reached the finals in the 2025 Copa América Feminina, defeating Argentina in the semifinals via a dramatic penalty shootout after a thrilling 4-4 draw.

U.S. manager Emma Hayes commented, “These three teams are likely to be in the World Cup in 2027, and we can expect to see Canada in World Cup qualifying later this year. Thus, the SheBelieves Cup is invaluable for our ongoing preparations and team development.”

“Each team presents unique strengths, challenging us to succeed on all fronts, which is exactly what we require as we aim for the major events ahead.”

The SheBelieves Cup will consist of doubleheaders at three different locations. The tournament opens on March 1 at Nashville’s GEODIS Park with Canada facing Colombia, followed by the U.S. Women’s National Team (USWNT) going up against Argentina later that night.

On March 4, Argentina will play Colombia, followed by a match between the U.S. and arch-rivals Canada at ScottsMiracle-Gro Field in Columbus, Ohio.

The competition culminates on March 7 at Sports Illustrated Stadium in Harrison, New Jersey, with Canada battling Argentina, followed by the USWNT facing Colombia.

The U.S. has claimed victory in seven of the prior ten SheBelieves Cups, although Japan won the trophy last year.

Regarding their matchups in 2026, the U.S. has emerged victorious in all six previous contests against Argentina, with their latest meeting resulting in a 3-0 win in Louisville, KY, in October 2024. Against Canada, the U.S. boasts an impressive record of 54 wins, 4 losses, and 9 draws, including a 3-0 win over Canada last July in Washington, D.C.

When the U.S. faces Colombia, it will be the 15th encounter between the two teams, with the last match ending in a 2-0 victory for the U.S. during the opening game of the 2025 SheBelieves Cup. The USWNT has an all-time record of 12 wins, no losses, and 2 draws against Las Cafeteras.

The match against Colombia will honor U.S. icon Tobin Heath, who retired last July, with a pre-match ceremony.

Tobin Heath, a New Jersey native, donned the U.S. jersey 181 times from 2008 to 2021, scoring 36 goals and contributing to two World Cup and two Olympic gold medal victories. She will be inducted into the National Soccer Hall of Fame on May 1, 2026.

Colombia is set to make its second appearance in the SheBelieves Cup after a third-place finish in 2025, while Canada is gearing up for its fourth entry following second in 2024, fourth in 2023, and third in 2021. This will be Argentina’s second appearance in the competition, having finished fourth in 2021.

The SheBelieves Cup will mark the USWNT’s second gathering in 2026, following a training camp scheduled from January 17-27 in Los Angeles. This camp is set to include matches against Paraguay on January 24 at Dignity Health Sports Park and Chile on January 27 at Harder Stadium, UC Santa Barbara.
