The reigning Ligue 1 champions, Paris Saint-Germain, gained some new neighbors last summer when the fashionable Paris FC relocated to the Stade Jean-Bouin, located almost literally on their doorstep.
Stade Jean-Bouin, home to the rugby union team Stade Francais, entered into a ground-sharing agreement with Paris FC starting in the 2025-26 season, which will continue until at least 2029. This strategic move coincided perfectly with Paris FC’s promotion to the top tier from Ligue 2.
As a result, both Parisian clubs are now based just across the street from each other, with PSG and Paris FC playing their home games in stadiums separated only by the width of Rue Claude Farrere.

Previously, Paris FC was playing at the Stade Sebastien Charlety before moving approximately five miles to the west of the city center. The two clubs will face off as neighbors for the first time on Sunday, January 4, when PSG hosts Paris FC in the league, followed by another match in the Coupe de France just eight days later.
This new arrangement has positioned PSG and Paris FC as some of the closest rivals in professional football. But where do they stand among the sport’s nearest stadium pairings worldwide? We’ve explored globally to rank the closest neighbors.
We have considered rivalries in which at least one team competes in the top division of its country, while ignoring shared stadiums that serve two or more teams.

10. Liverpool (Anfield) to Everton (Hill Dickinson Stadium): 1.77 miles
The Merseyside rivals may be closer than ever, but they have drifted apart slightly. For years, Liverpool and Everton were merely 0.59 miles apart, separated by Stanley Park. However, last summer, Everton moved into their new home at Bramley-Moore Dock, located a somewhat adventurous 1.77 miles across the suburbs. Goodison Park remains in use as the new home for Everton’s women’s team.
9. Chelsea (Stamford Bridge) and Fulham (Craven Cottage): 1.4 miles
Located in close proximity in west London, both Premier League clubs are situated within the borough of Hammersmith and Fulham. A leisurely stroll between the two takes under an hour, or you can opt for a quick journey of two tube stations.
8. PAOK (Toumba Stadium) and Iraklis (Kaftanzoglio Stadium): 0.8 miles
PAOK Salonika, stationed at Toumba Stadium since its opening in 1959, competes in the Greek Super League. Their closest geographical rivals are actually Iraklis Thessaloniki, who play at the nearby Kaftanzoglio Stadium, just a few city blocks away, yet currently compete in the second division.
7. Slovan Bratislava (Tehelné Pole Stadium) and FK Inter Bratislava (Pasienky Stadium): 0.32 miles
Tehelné Pole Stadium serves as the national football stadium of Slovakia and home to Slovan Bratislava, the country’s most successful club. It is situated very close to Pasienky Stadium, which occasionally hosts matches for FK Inter Bratislava, currently competing in the third tier of Slovak football.
Nottingham Forest and Notts County are recognized as having the closest senior stadiums in English football, separated by little more than the width of the River Trent that winds its way between the two grounds on the southern edge of the city center. Meadow Lane sits snugly among industrial and residential neighborhoods on the north side, while The City Ground is located on the south bank and adjacent to Trent Bridge, home of the Nottinghamshire County Cricket Club.
5. Independiente (Estadio Libertadores de América) and Racing Club (El Cilindro): 0.22 miles
Known for one of the most passionate rivalries in Argentine football, the Avellaneda derby pits Independiente against Racing Club, both of which are located mere streets apart in central Buenos Aires.
3. Dundee United (Tannadice) and Dundee (Dens Park): 0.17 miles
With just one residential street separating them, Dens Park and Tannadice are the closest professional soccer grounds in the UK, making it feasible to construct a footbridge between the two if needed.
3. Malmö FF (Eleda Stadion) and IFK Malmö (Malmö Stadion): 0.17 miles
In a neck-and-neck race for proximity, Swedish clubs Malmö FF and IFK Malmö are located about 900 feet apart in the city center. The more prominent Malmö FF has called Eleda Stadion home since 2009, moving from the smaller Malmö Stadion, which now accommodates third-tier IFK Malmö.
2. F.C. København (Parken Stadium) and Boldklubben af 1893 (Østerbro Stadium): 0.13 miles
Parken is the home ground for both the Denmark national team and the most accomplished club side in the country, F.C. København, who faced Manchester City in the knockout stages of last season’s Champions League. It shares proximity with Østerbro Stadium, which hosts both Boldklubben af 1893 and BK Skjold, nestled just a track-length away.
1. Paris Saint-Germain (Parc des Princes) and Paris FC (Stade Jean-Bouin): 0.12 miles
In terms of distance, PSG and Paris FC are the closest rival pairs in global professional football, with merely the Rue Claude Farrere separating their stadiums. Interestingly, Paris FC is set to host PSG at Stade Jean-Bouin on the final day of the Ligue 1 season, a match that could have significant implications for both the title race and relegation battle.
