Tottenham is nearing a deal to sign Andy Robertson on a free transfer, as confirmed by sources to ESPN.
The 32-year-old has concluded his nine-year stint with Liverpool after playing his final match for the club last Sunday against Brentford.
Although the deal is not yet finalized due to late interest from Serie AJuventus, Spurs are increasingly optimistic about reaching an agreement that would mark Robertson as the first signing of Roberto de Zerbi’s tenure as head coach.
Tottenham made an effort to negotiate a deal for Robertson in January but were unable to finalize the move as Liverpool believed they did not have adequate defensive cover.
Sources indicate that Spurs are eager to add strong personalities to their squad and view Robertson—a player with 92 caps for Scotland, along with two Premier League titles and a Champions League trophy at Anfield—as a key member of their leadership group.

Tottenham is anticipated to be very active in the transfer market this summer. In an open letter to supporters published on Monday, non-executive chairman Peter Charrington stated, “We will invest across multiple transfer windows to rebuild, balance, and strengthen, with this summer being a crucial first step in that journey.”
