Spurs’ Frank: Apologies…

Thomas Frank revealed that Micky van de Ven and Djed Spence have expressed their apologies after they seemingly snubbed him following Tottenham Hotspur‘s Premier League loss to Chelsea on Saturday.

“Micky and Djed came into my office yesterday without being prompted to say sorry. They meant no disrespect; they were just feeling frustrated,” Frank shared during a press conference on Monday.

João Pedro‘s goal in the 34th minute secured a well-deserved victory for Chelsea over a lackluster Spurs side, which faced discontent from their home crowd at the final whistle.

Spurs managed only three shots throughout the match, achieving an xG of 0.05—their lowest in a Premier League game since the start of tracking in the 2012-13 season.

As Frank made his way onto the pitch for a customary lap of appreciation, Van de Ven and Spence appeared to disregard their manager’s call to acknowledge the supporters, opting instead to head directly down the tunnel.

In his post-match remarks, Frank commented that he didn’t view it as a significant issue.

Additionally, Frank confirmed that Lucas Bergvall will not be available for Spurs’ Champions League match against Copenhagen on Tuesday, or their Premier League clash with Manchester United this weekend due to a concussion suffered early in the Chelsea match.

“Lucas is out due to concussion, which was apparent to everyone who watched the game,” Frank stated. “Djed and Mo [Mohammed Kudus] both have minor injuries but might still be fit for tomorrow.”
