Sunderland are close to sealing a season-long loan for Tottenham defender Kevin Danso.
BBC Sport reported on Friday that Spurs had turned down Sunderland’s first loan bid for the 27-year-old.
Talks have since resumed and the clubs have reached an agreement for Danso to spend the season at the Stadium of Light, with an option for the Black Cats to make the move permanent.
Tottenham’s imminent capture of 28-year-old centre-back Tosin Adarabioyo from Chelsea has cleared the way for Danso’s switch.
Spurs had been unwilling to let the Austria international depart without securing a replacement.
Danso initially joined Spurs on loan from Lens in January 2025 before the transfer was made permanent later that year for £20.9m.
