Isago, the son of former Chelsea and Brazil captain Thiago Silva, has officially signed his first professional contract with the Premier League side.
The 17-year-old was elevated to Chelsea’s under-18 team during the summer.
Isago and his younger brother, Iago, joined Chelsea’s youth academy when their father transferred to Stamford Bridge in August 2020 from Paris Saint-Germain.
According to a statement from Chelsea, Isago has “matured into a versatile and dependable defender, capable of playing both left-back and centre-back.”
Previously on a scholar’s contract, Isago shared on Instagram: “Proud to sign my first pro deal with Chelsea. Hungry for more.”
Although he has not yet debuted for Chelsea’s senior team, he could participate in the Champions League. The 17-year-old has been included in Chelsea’s B list and may be called up for any remaining league phase matches.
Silva, now 41, played for four years at Chelsea, winning the Champions League, the Club World Cup, and the UEFA Super Cup before returning to Brazilian club Fluminense in 2024. He has earned 113 caps for Brazil.
