Tottenham has once again broken their transfer record this summer by announcing the acquisition of Sandro Tonali from Newcastle United in a deal that could reach £100m ($133m).
Initially, Newcastle turned down Tottenham’s £75m ($100m) offer, but after further discussions, the clubs reached an agreement on a second proposal, sources indicate.
Tottenham ultimately met Newcastle’s asking price with a package totaling £100m ($133m), which includes an immediate £92.5m ($123m) fee along with £7.5m ($10m) tied to performance bonuses related to European qualification.

Tottenham has also secured the signing of midfielder Mateus Fernandes from West Ham for £85m ($72m).
This north London club has been active in the transfer market this summer after narrowly evading relegation in the previous Premier League season.
With the additions of Tonali and Fernandes, they have significantly strengthened their midfield.
