Tottenham have completed the signing of Scotland forward Kirsty Hanson from Aston Villa for an undisclosed fee.
Hanson excelled in the Women’s Super League last season, scoring 12 goals in 22 games. Only Manchester City’s Khadija Shaw and Arsenal’s Alessia Russo outscored her, and she was named Villa’s player of the year. She also won the league’s Goal of the Season for a superb strike against West Ham, making her departure a significant loss for Villa.
“I’m absolutely delighted. It’s an exciting time to be part of this club,” Hanson said, adding that she’s ready for a fresh challenge and eager to keep improving under Martin Ho and his staff.
The 28-year-old had a year left on her Villa contract, and the fee remains undisclosed. She has six goals in 48 appearances for Scotland and will reunite with Spurs head coach Ho, with whom she previously worked at Manchester United when he was an assistant.
“I know Kirsty well and the qualities she brings as a player and a person,” Ho said. “She has strong WSL and international experience and a clear drive to push her game on. We’re delighted she’s chosen Tottenham, and I’m excited to work with her again so she can continue to develop and become an important player for the club.”
Tottenham finished fifth in 2025-26 in Ho’s first season and have already signaled their ambition in the transfer market.
