Tuchel unsure on…

Thomas Tuchel has expressed uncertainty regarding Jude Bellingham’s availability for England’s upcoming friendlies next month, stating that the midfielder is in a “race against time” following a hamstring injury sustained while playing for Real Madrid.

Bellingham was taken off just 10 minutes into Madrid’s 2-1 victory over Rayo Vallecano on February 1, leaving the pitch visibly upset. Initial reports suggested he could be sidelined for up to a month.

However, during Thursday’s UEFA Nations League draw, Tuchel noted that there are growing concerns that Bellingham might require a longer recovery period.

“Real Madrid is taking a more cautious approach regarding his recovery timeline,” Tuchel said.

“Jude is pushing himself, and true to his nature, he is highly determined and professional. He will do everything possible to join us in March. We are in regular contact, which is normal, and we wish him the best… We’re here to support him in any way we can. It’s certainly a race against time.”

England is scheduled to face Uruguay on March 27 and Japan on March 31, with both matches taking place at Wembley, as they gear up for this summer’s FIFA World Cup.

Tuchel added, “Personally, I remain optimistic about Bellingham’s recovery, but I can’t say for certain.”

How long will Jude Bellingham be out injured?

Since November, Bellingham has not represented England, where he played 25 minutes as a substitute against Serbia and 84 minutes against Albania.

Over the past year, he has faced competition for a spot in Tuchel’s starting lineup from players like Morgan Rogers of Aston Villa.

Bellingham previously dealt with an injury earlier this season due to shoulder surgery but has still participated in 18 LaLiga matches this campaign.
