Tottenham Hotspur has expressed its heartfelt condolences to Igor Tudor and his family following the passing of his father.
Tudor was unable to attend his media obligations after Spurs suffered a damaging 3-0 home loss against relegation contenders Nottingham Forest due to a family bereavement.
As a result, Tottenham assistant Bruno Saltor took over the duties, although he refrained from discussing specific details about Tudor’s “family issue.”
Both Tottenham and Tudor’s previous club, Juventus, released statements on Monday confirming that the 47-year-old was mourning his father’s death.
“Everyone at Tottenham Hotspur is deeply saddened by the news of Igor Tudor’s father, Mario, passing away. Our thoughts and condolences are with Igor and his family during this incredibly challenging time,” stated the Spurs organization.
Juventus also conveyed its support, saying, “Juventus stands with Igor Tudor and his family during this difficult period. We join in mourning the loss of his father.”
The Press Association reported that Tudor received the news about his father’s death after the match concluded on Sunday.
Saltor commented at that moment, “It’s a personal family matter, and undoubtedly it’s a tough time for him. I’m just trying to provide the best support we can.”
