The Kansas City Police have apprehended two individuals as they continue to investigate the theft of team equipment from England while it was en route from Florida.
After wrapping up their pre-World Cup training camp in Palm Beach Gardens on Thursday, the England squad was given a day off before departing for Kansas City on Saturday.
The Football Association’s logistics team has been establishing their new hub at the Swope Soccer Village. It has been reported to ESPN that training gear and other items were found to be missing when a van arrived for unloading.
Sources indicate that the FA is currently assessing the situation to determine the extent of the theft.
A statement from the Kansas City Missouri Police Department said, “We are investigating a potential theft of equipment from a team vehicle that arrived in Kansas City with missing items this evening.”
The investigation is ongoing, and two persons of interest have been taken into custody.
This Saturday, England is scheduled to conduct a community training session before facing Croatia in their opening Group L match in Dallas next Wednesday.
