Crystal Palace has officially signed 19-year-old wing-back Zavier Gozo from Real Salt Lake, the club announced on Tuesday.

The American talent has inked a five-year contract with the Premier League club.

“Playing in the Premier League with Crystal Palace is a dream come true for any footballer,” Gozo expressed. “I am thrilled about the team’s vision and the progress they are making. I’ve followed their journey and am inspired by their past successes.”

In August, ESPN reported that the transfer deal was expected to be valued around $15 million (£11.1 million).

“We are excited to welcome an exceptional young talent like Zavier to Crystal Palace Football Club,” said club chairman Steve Parish. “I eagerly anticipate seeing what he can accomplish during his time in South London.”

A member of the U.S. youth national team, Gozo is viewed as one of the standout talents emerging from MLS. This season, he has made 16 regular season appearances for Real Salt Lake, scoring six goals and providing five assists. He also participated in the MLS All-Star Game in July.

Now at Crystal Palace, Gozo will be working under new manager Pierre Sage, who took over in June, succeeding Oliver Glasner. Sage was appointed to lead the team forward.

Gozo becomes the second American player on Crystal Palace’s roster this season, joining compatriot Chris Richards, who is in his fifth season with the club.
