Experienced forward Jamie Vardy has been awarded Serie A’s Player of the Month for November.
As he approaches his 39th birthday next month, Vardy, who signed with Cremonese at the beginning of the season, is the first English player to receive this accolade since the award’s inception in Italy’s top league in 2019.

His recognition is notable despite Cremonese’s unfortunate performance in November, where they lost all three matches while Vardy managed to score once in a 2-1 setback against Juventus.
The award is determined through a combination of fan votes and statistical performance, and in this instance, Vardy outperformed notable contenders such as AC Milan goalkeeper Mike Maignan, Inter Milan‘s Lautaro Martínez, David Neres from Napoli, Genoa‘s Leo Østigard, and Nicolò Zaniolo of Udinese.
According to Serie A CEO Luigi De Siervo, “Jamie Vardy is a player from a different era—one of those exceptional talents whose history, accomplishments, and unyielding spirit perfectly capture the romance of football.”
“His arrival at Cremonese, which was swiftly facilitated this summer, was met with enthusiasm from Serie A supporters, and Vardy is rewarding them with high-level performances, innate leadership, and crucial goals.”
Vardy has been a key player for Cremonese, starting in their last eight matches, and he notably scored twice in their 3-1 victory over Bologna on December 1.
The former England international had a remarkable 13-year career with Leicester City, where he played a pivotal role in their remarkable Premier League title win in 2016.
