A cornerstone of South Africa’s senior setup, Banyana Banyana’s captain is determined to guide the team to reclaim the title they first lifted in 2022.
The 33-year-old midfielder, who recently reached the milestone of 150 international caps, believes the expanded field makes this year’s WAFCON one of the most demanding editions yet.
At a minimum, South Africa are targeting another semi-final to secure a third consecutive World Cup berth, after advancing to the last 16 at the 2023 tournament in Australia and New Zealand.
Jane noted that the coaching staff have experienced both triumph and setbacks at WAFCON and feel they understand the formula for success.
South Africa have been placed in Group B alongside Tanzania, Ivory Coast and Burkina Faso.
