Wayne Rooney will co-host a new Manchester United-focused show with influencer Mark Goldbridge this season.
Earlier this year, former United captain Gary Neville bought Goldbridge’s YouTube channels, The United Stand and That’s Football, and brought them into his Overlap network.
Rooney, already a regular on The Overlap’s Stick to Football, will now front a new programme with Goldbridge called Stick to United with Wayne Rooney.
The show is part of a distribution deal with Disney+, which will carry 50 episodes of Stick to United and 40 episodes of Stick to Football this season. Neville says the partnership broadens their audience while keeping the brand’s identity intact.
Launched in 2021, The Overlap has expanded beyond football into sports like cricket and rugby. Neville, the company’s co-chair, paid an undisclosed seven-figure sum for Goldbridge’s channels in April.
Goldbridge, whose real name is Brent di Cesare, has more than 3.8 million followers across his two YouTube channels. His clips often go viral for his dramatic reactions and provocative football takes.
Neville has previously criticised ArsenalFanTV, calling it embarrassing after fans targeted Arsene Wenger following a 3-1 defeat by Chelsea in 2017. The comments sparked a Twitter back-and-forth, and Neville later appeared on the channel to explain his view.
Separately, The Wayne Rooney Show will return to BBC platforms this season, and Rooney will continue his punditry on Match of the Day.
