The upcoming 2026 World Cup in Los Angeles is set to thrive, thanks to the selection of its new host ambassadors.
This Tuesday, the Los Angeles World Cup 2026 host committee proudly introduced actor and comedian Will Ferrell as the community ambassador for the event, alongside several other prominent figures.
“As a lifelong soccer enthusiast and proud Angeleno, I’m excited to take on the role of an official Community Ambassador for the Los Angeles World Cup 2026 Host Committee leading up to the FIFA World Cup 2026,” Ferrell shared in a news release. “I’m here to back the Host Committee’s initiatives and cheer for the competing nations. I vow to stay out of the goalkeeper position… unless it’s absolutely necessary. Let’s make this tournament a memorable experience for Los Angeles!”
Alongside Ferrell, who co-owns the Los Angeles Football Club, the ambassador team will also include 1999 U.S. Women’s World Cup champions Julie Foudy and Mia Hamm, rapper Snoop Dogg, Los Angeles Lakers guard Luka Doncic, and Lakers legend Magic Johnson.

Mia Hamm, a founder of the Los Angeles Football Club and the all-time leader in assists for the USWNT, expressed her enthusiasm about serving both the sport and the city in her ambassador role.
“Soccer has given so much to me, and I’m honored to represent the host city where the U.S. Men’s National Team will play its opening match — a historic moment for fans nationwide,” Hamm stated in a news release. “The FIFA World Cup presents an opportunity to inspire young players, bring fans together, and showcase the remarkable growth of soccer in our region. I’m grateful to be a part of this event.”
Los Angeles will host eight matches of the World Cup at SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, California, kicking off with the U.S. men’s national team’s opening match on June 12.
