World Cup Winners To Be…

The victorious team of the World Cup will receive championship rings in addition to the traditional trophy and gold medals.

Argentina will face off against Spain on Sunday night in the final at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey, with an exciting new prize on the line.

FIFA has revealed that “bespoke championship rings” will be awarded to the winning players, “bringing a popular American sporting tradition to the global stage.”

A limited edition of 2,026 individually numbered rings will be produced, with 30 going to the winning team. The remaining 1,996 will be available for purchase by fans.

One side of the ring will feature the World Cup trophy, while the opposite side will be “customized to reflect the winning team’s identity.”

Immediately following the final, the winning captain and head coach will receive temporary championship rings. The final 30 rings will then be customized and presented to the players at a later time.

Sunday’s World Cup final will also include a closing ceremony, beginning 90 minutes before kickoff, with performances by Post Malone, Tom Cruise, and others, as well as a halftime show featuring Justin Bieber, Madonna, and Shakira.

Argentina is aiming for consecutive World Cup titles after narrowly defeating England in the semifinals. Spain, having bested France, is vying for its second trophy since its victory in 2010.

Lionel Messi is poised to become the first player to start in three World Cup finals. He also has the chance to extend his record as the all-time World Cup leading goal scorer with 21 goals, though France’s Kylian Mbappé is close behind with 20 goals.
