With Issa Kabore back at Manchester City after last season’s loan at the Racecourse Ground, Parkinson has set about strengthening his options at wing-back.
Imray did not make a senior appearance for Crystal Palace, but he amassed substantial first-team experience elsewhere.
After completing a permanent move to Selhurst Park in 2021, he was immediately loaned back to Chelmsford City.
He totalled 43 outings in all competitions, scoring twice, during a season-long loan with Bromley in 2024–25.
He then spent the first half of the 2025–26 season on loan at League One side Blackpool before moving to Championship club West Brom in January.
He featured 17 times across all competitions for the Baggies, including a 2–2 draw with Wrexham at The Hawthorns in April.
Imray said he believes the club is clearly on an upward curve.
He explained that everything about the setup—on the pitch and behind the scenes—appealed to him, and that watching Welcome to Wrexham underscored the club’s broader ambitions.
He highlighted the strong community focus, saying the bond with supporters is vital and a big part of the attraction.
Imray added that the target of reaching the Premier League, coupled with positive talks with the manager, made it an exciting project to join.
