Wrexham Duo Cautions Fans:…

Wrexham’s high-profile owners are trading the boardroom for the commentary box to celebrate five transformative years since their takeover of the Welsh club.

Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney, who is now known as Rob Mac, will lend their voices to the Wrexham home match against fellow Welsh side Swansea in the Championship this Friday.

The duo will commentate on the game live for British broadcaster Sky Sports, where they will also host special guests throughout the event.

“Just like our decision to take over Wrexham five years ago, we genuinely have no clue how this will turn out,” Reynolds and Mac remarked. “But we’re committed to giving it our all.”

“Neither of us has ever commentated on a sports event, let alone a sport we started learning the rules of just five years ago.”

The Hollywood duo completed their $2.5 million acquisition of Wrexham in February 2021, when the team was competing in the fifth tier of English football.

Wrexham, whose rise has been chronicled in the documentary “Welcome to Wrexham”—which has brought the club and city international acclaim—has achieved three consecutive promotions and is one step away from reaching the Premier League.

Currently, Wrexham sits in sixth place, securing the last playoff position with ten matches remaining in the season.
