Yamal and Williams Miss…

Lamine Yamal, Nico Williams, and Víctor Muñoz have been excluded from Spain‘s traveling roster for their final pre-World Cup friendly against Peru.

The match will take place at Cuauhtémoc Stadium in Puebla on Monday, just a week before Spain begins their Group H campaign against Cabo Verde in Atlanta on June 15.

The three players will remain at Spain’s training camp in Chattanooga, Tennessee, to continue their recovery from injuries.

Coach Luis de la Fuente has expressed optimism that Yamal will be “ready to play” in Spain’s opening World Cup match, though he acknowledged that the Barcelona winger’s participation might be limited to “just a few minutes.”

Following the game against Cabo Verde, Spain will take on Saudi Arabia in Atlanta on June 21, followed by a matchup with Uruguay in Guadalajara on June 26.

Yamal sustained a hamstring injury while converting a penalty for Barcelona on April 22.

Spain arrived in Chattanooga on Friday, and both Yamal and Williams participated in an open training session on Saturday, where they also signed autographs for fans.
