Lamine Yamal once again demonstrated his knack for influencing crucial moments in a match, as the teenage sensation scored a stunning goal to secure a 1-0 victory for Barcelona against Athletic Bilbao on Saturday.
The contest was dynamic, with Athletic putting forth relentless pressure at their San Mames Stadium until Yamal shifted the momentum towards the La Liga leaders.
The 18-year-old Spain forward received a well-timed pass from Pedri González, finding space on the right side of the penalty area. With a quick touch, he created an angle and curled a left-footed shot that struck the upper edge of the far post.
This decisive goal in the 68th minute marked his 19th in all competitions this season, ensuring that Hansi Flick’s team remained four points ahead of second-placed Real Madrid as they aim to defend their domestic title.

In his previous match, Yamal celebrated his first hat trick in a league game, contributing to a 4-1 triumph over Villarreal.
This hard-earned away win came just four days after Barcelona’s loss to Atletico Madrid in the Copa del Rey semifinals.
Flick opted to rest several key players ahead of Barcelona’s upcoming Champions League clash against Newcastle on Tuesday.
Pedri, Raphinha, and Fermín López only entered the match in the final half-hour, while Marcus Rashford, Marc Bernal, and Marc Casadó started in their stead.
In the absence of injured fullbacks Jules Koundé and Alejandro Balde, Éric García and João Cancelo stepped in. Barcelona relied on goalkeeper Joan García to keep the score level until Yamal’s game-winning moment arrived.
