Yoro Reflects on Choosing…

Leny Yoro has expressed that he has no regrets over his decision to decline an offer from Real Madrid in order to sign with Manchester United.

Yoro had an opportunity to join the team at the Bernabéu in 2024, but ultimately chose to make a move to Manchester after United completed a deal with Lille.

The 19-year-old faced challenges during his initial season at Old Trafford, with Ruben Amorim’s side finishing 15th in the Premier League and suffering a defeat in the Europa League final against Tottenham.

Nevertheless, the French midfielder believes his decision to join United was the correct one, expressing his satisfaction with his current situation at Old Trafford.

“This is a critical choice to make in your career,” Yoro commented.

“I’ve received interest from multiple clubs—not just Madrid or United. Right now, my decision is Manchester, and I’m genuinely happy about it.”

“I understand that people had opinions regarding my decision last year due to the results.”

“I get that, but ultimately, this is my choice and my career. I know what I’m doing, and I’m committed to improving in the future.”

If Yoro had opted for Real Madrid, he would currently be participating in the Champions League and vying for top honors in LaLiga.

However, he is instead part of a rebuilding phase at United, which according to Amorim, may take several years to become competitive again.

Despite the challenges, Yoro remains confident that the club is on the right track under the guidance of the Portuguese coach.

He stated that he believes he can achieve his ambitions in Manchester rather than in Madrid.

“Even with last season’s difficulties, I never felt regret about my decision,” Yoro explained.

“I understand that Manchester United has its ups and downs; a bad season is part of football. But this club is prestigious, and I trust in that.”

“I was aware of the club’s vision before I arrived. I didn’t expect to finish my first season in 15th place, but these are hurdles to overcome.”

“With the board, the coach, and all the players pushing each other daily, I have faith in this club. It’s essential to keep our heads up and strive for excellence every day.”
