This Saturday (October 10th) at 8:30 PM (Brasília time), Palmeiras will be facing Portuguesa at Canindé in the opening match of the 2026 Paulistão.

Since 2020, Verdão has consistently reached the state finals, securing championships in 2020, 2022, 2023, and 2024, while finishing as runners-up in 2021 and 2025.

With a total of 26 Paulistão titles, Palmeiras is eager to narrow the gap with Corinthians, who lead with 31 titles.

So far in the transfer market, Palmeiras has been somewhat conservative, with only the signing of midfielder Marlon Freitas, the 2024 Libertadores champion with Botafogo.

The club is eyeing Argentine Thiago Almada, a continental champion from two seasons ago, along with Colombian Jhon Arias, who won the 2023 Libertadores and 2024 Recopa with Fluminense.

Furthermore, the team’s management has dismissed foreign bids for promising player Allan, a standout from last season. Despite Napoli’s offer of up to 40 million euros, Verdão has chosen not to accept it.
