For Real Madrid to maintain any chances of clinching the La Liga title this season, a victory against Girona is essential.
Fede Valverde has once again risen to the occasion for Alvaro Arbeloa, but another midfielder has brought things level at the Bernabéu.

The Uruguayan midfielder seized the ball from 25 yards out and unleashed a shot at Girona’s goalkeeper, Paulo Gazzaniga.
The former Spurs player should have handled it better, but his unusual attempt to save the shot only helped the ball find its way into the net.
This marks Valverde’s fourth consecutive league match in which he has scored.
Alongside his impressive hat-trick against Manchester City, the 27-year-old has netted seven of his nine goals this season within the last month!
However, Real’s celebration was short-lived as Girona equalized just 11 minutes later with a fantastic long-range strike, a goal that might have drawn cheers from their neighbors.
Will Valverde and his teammates secure a vital victory, or will Barcelona effectively claim the title by the end of the night?
