The 31st season of Major League Soccer kicks off this weekend, bringing with it an array of exciting storylines for fans to dive into this season.
Lionel Messi played a pivotal role in securing Inter Miami’s first MLS title in 2025, contributing two assists to the team’s 3-1 victory over the Vancouver Whitecaps in the MLS Cup. As the season begins, Inter Miami is the frontrunner with +400 odds at BetMGM, closely followed by Los Angeles FC at +600.

LAFC also has strong prospects, notably with the addition of former Tottenham star Son Heung-min during last season. The team claimed its first MLS Cup in 2022 and will kick off its season this Saturday in Los Angeles against the reigning champions, Inter Miami. LAFC is favored at +110 on the three-way line, with Inter Miami listed at +210 and the draw at +270.
San Diego FC and the Vancouver Whitecaps—who were the runners-up in the 2025 MLS Cup—have the next best odds at +900, followed by the Philadelphia Union and FC Cincinnati at 14-1.
Sporting Kansas City and DC United, one of the league’s original franchises, currently hold the longest odds at 80-1 to win the title this year.

This season is particularly noteworthy as it coincides with the 2026 World Cup, which will be hosted across the United States, Canada, and Mexico. To accommodate players participating in international tournaments, MLS will take a break from May 25 to July 16.
