Barcelona is on track to narrow their deficit to Real Madrid to three points after taking a commanding 4-2 lead against Celta Vigo in their La Liga matchup at Balaidos.
The game’s first goal occurred within the first 10 minutes, awarded via a penalty kick. Following a VAR review, Marcos Alonso was penalized for a handball, allowing Robert Lewandowski to convert from 12 yards. However, Barcelona’s lead was short-lived, as Sergio Carreira exploited their high defensive line and equalized by finding the net past Wojciech Szczesny.
Barcelona quickly regained the advantage, with Lewandowski scoring again, this time tapping in a superb cross from Marcus Rashford for his second goal of the match. Yet, Celta managed to equalize once more through Borja Iglesias.
As the match seemed destined for a 2-2 draw at halftime, a last-minute effort from Lamine Yamal allowed Barcelona to take the lead for the third time before the break. With 20 minutes left in the match, they further increased their lead thanks to Lewandowski’s header, completing his hat-trick.
