Joe Gelhardt has expressed his satisfaction at Hull City, despite concerns about a potential recall from his loan by Leeds United in January.

The 23-year-old forward netted the decisive goal in Hull’s recent Championship match against Portsmouth on November 8 and has attracted interest from other clubs in the league, including league leaders Coventry.

This is Gelhardt’s return to Hull after he spent the latter half of last season with the team.

“It’s clear there was genuine interest, but that was quickly put to rest,” Gelhardt stated.

“Both the manager and I have agreed that I’m happy here, and I’m prepared to play for Hull for as long as I’m needed. I’m committed to the team and ready to give my all in the Hull shirt.”

Gelhardt made these comments during an interview with BBC Radio Humberside’s James Hoggarth at a supporters club event, alongside defender Charlie Hughes.

“It wasn’t only about January; it was even after last season. I did everything I could to get him back during the summer,” Hughes revealed. “I was in touch with him daily. But it isn’t just me—everyone at the club, the team, the staff, and the fans all appreciate him and understand how crucial he is to our squad.”

“His performance on the pitch speaks volumes, and you can see how much the fans adore him. He’s an integral part of our club, and it would be disheartening if he were recalled.”
