After Napoli’s impressive 3-1 victory against Atalanta, President Aurelio De Laurentiis made a pointed remark addressing both Antonio Conte and the team.
The Partenopei delivered a stunning performance at the Stadio Diego Armando Maradona, with David Neres scoring twice and Noa Lang netting his first goal for the club before halftime.
Although Gianluca Scamacca managed to score for Atalanta in the second half, it wasn’t enough to change the outcome of the match.
De Laurentiis was present in the stands, accompanied by former Napoli legends Lorenzo Insigne and Antonio Careca, and he took to social media promptly after the match concluded.
The message he posted on X (formerly Twitter) garnered significant attention.

In his message, De Laurentiis remarked, “Bravo to Antonio Conte, who has successfully taken charge of the team again. Well done to the players for adhering to his strategies.”

His choice of words suggested that Conte had previously lost control of the team, highlighting a significant turnaround.
The latter part of the message was particularly pointed, especially following Conte’s lament after a 2-0 defeat to Bologna, where he expressed frustration that some players “weren’t listening” to him.

In line with this, Lang also commented to Sky Sport Italia immediately following the match, suggesting there may be some underlying tensions.
“Honestly, it has been a challenging time. I came here with high expectations, required patience, and hard work. I didn’t always agree with everything, but I’m following God’s plan,” he said.
“Going forward, I want to focus on what’s ahead. The best is yet to come; this is just the beginning.”
This match marked Lang’s first goal and only his second start in a Napoli jersey.
