As head coach, Cesc Fabregas declined Inter Milan’s transfer interest this summer, affirming his commitment to Como.
According to Gianluca Di Marzio via FCInterNews, Como provided the 38-year-old with ‘€150 million’ reasons to reject Inter’s overtures.

Inter Milan had initially seen the Spanish manager as a prime long-term successor to Simone Inzaghi, who moved to Al-Hilal in June.
However, after Fabregas turned them down, they shifted their focus to Cristian Chivu.
Fabregas’ decision may turn out to be a blessing for the Nerazzurri, especially given Chivu’s promising start at San Siro.
Meanwhile, the Spaniard has continued his excellent work at Como, leading the team to a strong start in Serie A.
With only one loss after 12 matches, Fabregas’ squad is emerging as serious contenders for European competition this season.

This performance aligns with Como’s expectations when they committed to a significant transfer budget over the summer.

Despite promising Fabregas a hefty transfer budget, Como fell short of their commitment.
The club made some solid summer signings but did not come close to the anticipated figure.

Nevertheless, it was sufficient to convince Fabregas to turn down several attractive offers.
In addition to Inter, Roma also sought to bring him on board after parting ways with Claudio Ranieri.
After being turned down, the Giallorossi appointed Gian Piero Gasperini as their new head coach.
“Over the summer, 150 million euros had been pledged to Fabregas for transfers,” Di Marzio explained.
“Yet, Como did not come close to that amount.
“Now we can understand why he rejected Roma first and then Inter, even though the subsequent narrative suggested otherwise.”
