Angelo Fabiani, the director of Lazio, chose to remain tight-lipped about the club’s potential interest in Lorenzo Insigne, emphasizing that any potential acquisition must align with the team’s restrictions on players over the age of 30.
In an interview with DAZN prior to the Milan-Lazio match, and as reported by Corriere dello Sport, Fabiani was queried about the former Napoli captain, who has been speculated to make a return to Serie A.

Insigne is currently a free agent, having seen his contract with MLS team Toronto FC come to an end this summer.

Fabiani Comments on Insigne Transfer Speculation
The winger has been suggested as a target for Lazio, particularly with the prospect of reuniting with his former coach and mentor, Maurizio Sarri, adding intrigue to the rumors.
However, Fabiani maintained an air of mystery and refrained from revealing any specifics.
“As an old mentor of mine used to say, I wouldn’t disclose it even under torture; I wouldn’t even tell my son who I’m considering,” he remarked, effectively shutting down the discussion on individual targets.

Fabiani emphasized that any consideration of Insigne would need to be made in light of the club’s limitations on overage players, stressing the importance of careful evaluation before making any commitments.
“We need to conduct a thorough assessment,” he noted. “We’ll see what options we have regarding other players during the transfer window.”
The message is clear: Lazio is monitoring the market but without any promises.
