Facing the Consequences…

Watford’s manager, Javi Gracia, acknowledged that his team is “paying for mistakes” after suffering a 2-1 defeat against Birmingham City. Othmane Maamma managed to reduce the deficit for the Hornets in the second half, following goals from Paik Seung-ho and Demarai Gray that had put the Blues ahead at halftime.

Gracia expressed his frustration over errors that cost his side in what he considered a balanced match. “We anticipated today would be a challenging game,” he told BBC Three Counties Radio. “In my view, it was even. The first half saw them a bit more in control, but we both created solid opportunities. They capitalized on theirs with two excellent goals.”

He added, “In the second half, we performed better and created more chances, spending most of the time in the opponent’s half. When you dominate, you must score, but we failed to do so. The other team played well, and in terms of chances and possession, it was equal, but we are suffering from our own mistakes.”

Gracia committed to working diligently alongside his staff to make a comeback. “We have talented players, and we will continue our efforts; I have faith in my squad. We need to be more effective in front of goal.”
