The 4-1 loss to Newcastle United last Saturday served as a crucial wake-up call for David Moyes, as reported by various sources. Currently sitting 14th in the Premier League, Everton finds itself just four points shy of European qualification. Moyes is convinced that he needs additional support in January and intends to seek financial backing from the Friedkin Group to bolster his squad.
According to transfer journalist Alan Nixon, Moyes is targeting Fulham left-back Antonee Robinson, who started his career at Everton. The 28-year-old defender left the club in 2019 after receiving high praise during his time there, as he was blocked by Leighton Baines and Lucas Digne.

Everton is eyeing Antonee Robinson from Fulham
After making a strong impression at Wigan, Robinson was signed by Fulham for £2 million in 2020. The U.S. international has since featured in 193 matches, gaining a solid reputation and attracting interest from clubs like Liverpool and Manchester City in the past.

This season, Robinson has only played three Premier League matches due to a knee injury, but Everton is still contemplating a move in January. Nixon proposes that a bid of around £25 million could persuade Fulham to part ways with him, although Robinson’s contract extends until 2028, which may increase his transfer fee.

Could he fit into David Moyes’ system?
Currently, Vitaliy Mykolenko occupies the left-back position more due to a lack of competition than outstanding form. The 19-year-old Adam Aznou, who was signed from Bayern Munich, is still awaiting his Premier League debut and seems to be viewed as a long-term prospect.
If Robinson regains full fitness, he would directly challenge Mykolenko for the starting role and could earn regular game time ahead of the United States’ World Cup campaign next year. Bringing him back to Everton would likely be a beneficial move, given Robinson’s speed, work ethic, and dual contributions in both attack and defense, along with his connection to the club making the potential deal even more enticing.
