Trent Alexander-Arnold, the England defender, is set to be sidelined for roughly two months due to a thigh injury he sustained during Real Madrid’s victory against Athletic Club.
The right-back has had a challenging season, making only 11 appearances across all competitions due to injuries, but he did manage to record his first La Liga assist in Real’s 3-0 win in Bilbao.
Unfortunately, Alexander-Arnold injured his thigh just 10 minutes into the second half and required assistance to exit the field.
According to sources confirmed by BBC Sport, the 27-year-old is anticipated to be out of action for around two months.
This injury is the latest setback for Alexander-Arnold, who transferred to Real Madrid from Liverpool over the summer and previously missed six weeks of the season with a hamstring issue.
With Spain’s right-back Dani Carvajal also unavailable until early 2026, Federico Valverde from Uruguay may need to step in at full-back.
