Liverpool goalkeeper Alisson has commented on the ongoing situation involving star forward Mohamed Salah, noting that it is “not a situation which makes us happy,” even though he insists the locker room atmosphere remains unaffected.

Recently, Salah made comments that raised eyebrows, as he expressed doubts about his future, mentioned a rift with head coach Arne Slot, and indicated he feels pressured to leave. These remarks took center stage at the Champions League press conference ahead of their match against Inter Milan.

Meanwhile, Salah stayed home for the match, and his absence was not due to discipline.

Despite the swirling rumors, Alisson has opted to avoid engaging in the internal conflict. He stated, “This is not a situation that makes us happy, primarily because we all hold a personal fondness for Mo. He is an essential player for our team, a fantastic individual, and has significantly contributed to our club.”

“We were somewhat taken aback but recognize this is a personal matter, so we leave it between him and the club,” he continued.

Alisson added, “What we believe doesn’t factor in here. We wish for him and the club to reach an agreement that benefits both sides and the entire team.”

“I hope to see him play again for the club. That matter is personal between Mo and the club,” he stated. “As his teammates and friends, we desire the best outcome for him, but as players for Liverpool FC, we also want what’s best for the club. Ideally, it should be a win-win for everyone.”

Salah’s statements created a stir in football, especially following Saturday’s 3-3 draw at Leeds, which marked just four wins in the last 15 matches and added pressure on Slot’s tenure. However, Alisson affirmed that the players continue to support their head coach.

“Absolutely. Before Arne arrived, there was significant discussion about the immense challenge of succeeding Jurgen Klopp,” he remarked. “Now it seems people take for granted our achievements from last season. That shouldn’t be underestimated, but we trust in his capabilities.”

“We believe in his playing style and know he can help us overcome this situation. I don’t think his intention is to disrespect anyone. Players have the freedom to express themselves, but they also need to face the consequences. As a team, we need to focus on unity and hard work to navigate through tough times. It’s not just about Mo; it concerns the entire team and the club.”
