Manchester United Soars to 4

Manchester United secured a solid 4-1 win against Wolverhampton Wanderers in the Premier League on Monday, marking a successful return to form.

The match nearly saw United take an early lead with a corner that appeared destined for the net, but goalkeeper Sam Johnstone managed to punch it clear.

Diogo Dalot was presented with the game’s first major opportunity but was thwarted by Johnstone. Shortly after, the Wolves keeper delivered another impressive save, this time denying Bryan Mbeumo’s volley.

United finally broke the deadlock in the 25th minute when Bruno Fernandes squeezed the ball past Johnstone, scoring his first goal since September.

They nearly doubled their lead when Fernandes set up Mbeumo, but the shot was saved, and Toti made a crucial goalline clearance to thwart Matheus Cunha’s follow-up.

Wolves built some momentum toward the end of the first half and equalized when Jean-Ricner Bellegarde unleashed a powerful shot from David Moller Wolfe’s pass.

After the break, Manchester United swiftly regained the upper hand, with Mbeumo restoring their lead by slotting the ball into an empty net after being played through by Fernandes.

This marked Mbeumo’s sixth goal involvement in league matches against Wolves, representing his second-best tally against any team.

Fernandes again provided the assist, playing a deft ball over the top for Mason Mount, who helped extend United’s lead.

The United captain has now scored and assisted in a league game 16 times – trailing only Mohamed Salah (27) and Kevin De Bruyne (17) for the most since his Premier League debut.

Fernandes capped an outstanding performance by converting a penalty after Yerson Mosquera handled the ball.

With this victory, United have moved up to sixth in the standings, just one point behind fourth-placed Crystal Palace.
