Lucas Hernandez Suspended…

PSG centre-back Lucas Hernandez (29) will have to observe Les Parisiens‘ remaining Champions League matches from the sidelines. The France international has received a three-match suspension from UEFA due to a red card issued during Matchday 5 of the Champions League, as reported by Le Parisien. Hernandez struck Tottenham’s attacking midfielder Xavi Simons in the face with his elbow. Following a brief VAR review, the referee sent him off.

This means Hernandez will miss PSG’s Champions League fixtures against Athletic Club Bilbao on Wednesday, as well as matches in January against Sporting CP and Newcastle United. This is not the first incident for the former Atlético de Madrid and FC Bayern Munich defender; during the Club World Cup, he was also shown a red card for elbowing Bayern’s Raphaël Guerreiro.
