Inter suffered a significant setback during Tuesday’s Champions League defeat to Liverpool, with muscular injuries forcing both Hakan Calhanoglu and Francesco Acerbi to leave the field in the first half.
They now join four long-term absentees in the treatment room.

In addition to Calhanoglu and Acerbi, Cristian Chivu will also be without starting wingback Denzel Dumfries.
Although initial assessments were positive, the Dutchman may miss Inter’s Supercoppa Italiana match against Genoa.
On a brighter note, Matteo Darmian is expected to recover in time for Inter’s upcoming trip to Riyadh, but he is likely to miss the Sunday match at Marassi.
Third-choice goalkeeper Raffaele Di Gennaro and overlooked defender Tomas Palacios are also set to miss out.
Despite the injury woes, Chivu’s side will be eager to bounce back from their disappointing loss to Liverpool.
