Match hero Zac Sapsford expressed his belief that Dundee United would reclaim control of the game, as they came from behind to defeat reigning champions Celtic 2-1 at Tannadice.
Following a long-awaited victory over Celtic after 11 years, the Australian striker shared his thoughts with Sky Sports: “We went down 1-0, but we remained confident that we were still in the game and could turn it around.”

“We just needed a few chances, and we managed to secure the win. I always felt we had it in us to come back and that was the key to our victory.”
Reflecting on his decisive goal, Sapsford added: “I caught it nicely with a bit of curl, and luckily it found the bottom corner. I’m thrilled with that.”
Captain Ross Graham is optimistic that this victory can change United’s fortunes, having ended a seven-match winless streak, and hopes the team can build “momentum” and “consistency”.
“If we maintain the score at 1-0, we know we have a chance,” he remarked. “With the quality of our attacking players, we’re capable of scoring goals.”

“We defended solidly as a unit, adhered to our game plan, and achieved the desired result. I believe we could have handled their goal better, but afterwards, we responded excellently, applying high pressure on Celtic.”
“We’ve performed well against the top teams in the league, and we always knew our time would come for a victory over them, and thankfully, that came tonight.”
