Significant changes are underway at OGC Nice as Fabrice Bocquet has stepped down as club president, with his predecessor, Jean-Pierre Rivere, along with Maurice Cohen, stepping in to lead the team until the season’s conclusion.
Their primary objective is to steer the club away from relegation. This stark turn of events follows a last season where Nice secured a respectable fourth place in Ligue 1. To end their historic nine-game losing streak and return to winning form, the club is expected to seek new players in January.
According to a report from Foot Mercato, Nice is eyeing a transfer for Elye Wahi (22), who moved from Olympique de Marseille to Eintracht Frankfurt around this time last year. Unfortunately, he has struggled to make an impact in the Bundesliga, failing to score in his first 10 appearances of the season.
Despite this, Wahi still has support within the German club, and a departure isn’t guaranteed. Nevertheless, Nice is keen on signing the French forward and has inquired about a possible transfer in January. Paris FC is also reportedly interested, according to L’Équipe.
