The young talent is in the midst of relocating, having recently acquired the luxurious mansion once owned by Shakira and Gerard Pique during their time together in Barcelona. Although Yamal has strong ties to Rocafonda, a suburb of Mataro where he grew up, he has been living in La Masia’s lodging at Barcelona’s training facility.

After being promoted to the first team, Yamal moved into a nearby apartment with his cousin. As he prepares to leave his current home, he took to YouTube to showcase a tour of the place while notably donning a Colombia ‘Luis Diaz 7’ shirt.

From potential teammates to potential rivals

Barcelona’s Director of Football, Deco, has openly expressed his interest in signing Luis Diaz last summer. The 28-year-old winger was departing from Liverpool, but Barcelona faced salary cap limitations that prevented the transfer, meaning Yamal and Diaz will remain foes for now.

In the end, Diaz signed with Bayern Munich for €70 million, where he has quickly acclimated. Yamal and Diaz could find themselves in competition for major titles by 2026, as both teams are expected to be strong contenders in the Champions League. Additionally, they will play vital roles for their national teams at the 2026 World Cup, representing Spain and Colombia, respectively.
