According to a recent report by Sky Sports, Arsenal is closely monitoring AC Milan’s left-back, Davide Bartesaghi, with ambitions of bringing him to the Emirates Stadium next year.
Bartesaghi’s Impressive Serie A Performances
This season, Bartesaghi has been in excellent form for AC Milan, showcasing his skills on the left side of their defense. The 19-year-old has scored twice and provided one assist in 13 appearances across all competitions.
Defensively, he has made a significant impact with 15 tackles, 11 blocks, four interceptions, and 21 clearances in Serie A. His ability to distribute the ball effectively is evident from his pass success rate of 79.8% in top-flight football (stats via fbref.com).
Bartesaghi’s current contract runs until the summer of 2030, meaning Arsenal would need to propose a compelling offer if they wish to sign him next year.

Should Mikel Arteta Pursue Bartesaghi?
Bartesaghi is known for his strong tackling ability and his knack for timing challenges to reclaim possession for his team. He is not afraid to clear threats and can also generate scoring opportunities for colleagues from the left side.
Though primarily a left-back, he can adapt to a centre-back role if necessary. However, there are concerns about whether he can maintain his current level of performance in the Premier League should he join Arsenal in 2026.
Adding Bartesaghi to Arsenal would enhance Mikel Arteta’s defensive lineup, providing greater quality and depth. He has the potential to compete for a starting role at the Emirates.
At only 19, Bartesaghi has the potential to become a future star in English football, provided he continues to develop each year. However, there are still uncertainties about his ability to handle the physical demands and high intensity of the English game. Given these factors, Arteta should seriously consider pursuing a transfer for him next year.
