Inter Milan midfielder Piotr Zielinski acknowledged his accountability for the challenges he faced last season after securing a 1-0 victory against Atalanta, emphasizing his enhanced fitness and renewed confidence under coach Cristian Chivu.
In the post-match press conference following the victory in Bergamo, Zielinski addressed his substitution in the second half, stating, “I’m fine; I just had a cramp.”
“I informed the staff, and they opted to take me off. I can’t say if it was my best match, but I strive to contribute,” he added.

When asked what message the win conveyed, Zielinski emphasized the importance of focus and self-belief. “We must do our job and aim to secure as many wins as possible,” he stated.
“The opinions in the newspapers don’t concern us too much because we understand our worth. Right now, we’re at the top, but there are still many games ahead. We need to remain focused and always give our best.”
Following up on his individual performance and the perception that Chivu has brought about a revival in his game, Zielinski accepted his share of the blame.
“Ultimately, the responsibility lies primarily with me,” he acknowledged. “I didn’t start the season in the best shape, dealing with those infamous blisters,” he added with a chuckle. “Injuries, both serious and minor, had an impact, but that’s all behind me now.”
In conclusion, the Polish international expressed a positive outlook. “I’m focused on what I can contribute to the team. You’re witnessing the best version of me now.”
