Marc Guehis Transfer…

Liverpool remains keen on securing Marc Guehi as the transfer window approaches.

Signing a new centre-back is crucial for Liverpool, and the Crystal Palace captain tops Richard Hughes’ list of desired targets.

However, persuading the England international to join the Reds before the season concludes presents a challenge, as waiting could offer him greater financial benefits.

Moreover, it seems unlikely that Crystal Palace will permit a transfer before it is contractually feasible, especially after manager Oliver Glasner fought to retain him last August.

Could Guehi make the move in January?

In summary, a transfer for Guehi does not appear imminent until the summer, when it might be challenging to convince him to choose Liverpool over other attractive options.

Despite being close to finalizing a deal over the summer, uncertainties remain about Guehi’s future. According to Sami Mokbel from BBC Sport, interest in Guehi is ‘intensifying’, and while he seems inclined to honor the final six months of his contract, complexities surround his situation.

On Football Focus, Mokbel noted, “He has numerous options for the summer, with clubs like Real Madrid, Barcelona, Bayern Munich, Atletico Madrid, and Inter Milan expressing varying degrees of interest. By the season’s end, Liverpool and Manchester City are expected to also be in the mix.”

“He is leaving, but I anticipate this situation will persist until the summer.”

There’s a chance Guehi could sign a pre-contract agreement come January, but that would only be with clubs outside of England.

Should Guehi decide to disregard all offers and wait until the season concludes, Liverpool runs the risk of their ideal centre-back not completing the transfer.

In another report, Sacha Tavolieri suggested that Barcelona may be stepping back from pursuing Guehi due to a potentially lower offer than that of English clubs. This development could leave Liverpool in a favorable position for the 26-year-old, although competition will still be rigorous.

Liverpool will be eager to finalize a deal for Guehi, whether in January or at the end of the season.
