Thomas Frank has indicated that Tottenham is likely to be active in the January transfer window after closing out the year with a victory against Crystal Palace.
Tottenham has experienced a challenging first half of the season, struggling with poor performance at home during Frank’s inaugural year with the team.
Despite sitting in the bottom half of the Premier League table at 11th place, they head into 2026 on a positive note, having narrowly defeated Palace 1-0 at Selhurst Park, thanks to teenager Archie Gray’s debut goal.
After the match, Frank was asked about plans to enhance the squad as they aim for consistency for the rest of the season.
“Absolutely, the window will open, and we will be looking to see if there are any opportunities,” he stated in an interview with Sky Sports. “But it has to be a move that clearly improves the team; otherwise, it might be prudent to wait. We will definitely be in the market.”
This past summer, Tottenham was active in the transfer market, as Frank restructured the team’s offensive lineup, making significant investments in players like Xavi Simons and Mohammed Kudus, as well as acquiring Randal Kolo Muani on loan.
However, the new attacking signings have struggled to find their form in London, with the trio managing only three league goals collectively.

Tottenham’s struggles in converting chances have contributed to their disappointing home record, as they have failed to secure wins in seven out of nine matches at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium this season, with five of those being losses.
On a positive note, one area yielding optimism for Frank has been the impressive performances of his teenage midfielders, with Lucas Bergvall and Gray showing promise for the team.
“He had his moment as the match-winner,” Frank said of Gray’s decisive goal at Selhurst Park. “It was a significant moment, and I’m very happy for him. He’s showing a lot of growth and doing many things well in midfield. I was really pleased with his performance today, capped off by a goal. It was excellent.”
