MILAN FUTURO: UP AND…

Milan Futuro couldn’t have hoped for a better start to the year, achieving one of their standout victories of the season in their opening match of 2026. Taking on Leon away, Coach Oddo’s squad triumphed with a score of 3-0. After a first half that was evenly contested with opportunities for both teams, Milan Futuro seized control early in the second half, netting three goals in rapid succession that secured the match. Sala, Cappelletti, and Asanji became this year’s first goal scorers, earning the team three crucial and well-deserved points.

The significance of these points lies in their ability to lift us higher in the standings, narrowing the gap between us and second-place Chievo, and providing distance from the current leaders, Folgore Caratese. The win is well earned, showcasing the strong and mature performance of our young players, building on the momentum of a promising December and continuing our unbeaten streak. Special recognition goes to the day’s goal scorers: Sala and Cappelletti both netted their second league goals of the season, while Levis Asanji celebrated a remarkable milestone by scoring his first goal for Milan Futuro. It was an exceptional restart for the team, who are set to play again on Sunday, January 11, when Pavia visits Solbiate Arno.

MATCH REPORT

The Rossoneri began the game with intensity, generating two quick opportunities through Ibrahimović (2′) and Ossola (6′), though both attempts just missed the target. The first real strike on goal came in the 7th minute from Sala, whose late run was thwarted by Generali. After their swift start, the hosts found their rhythm and nearly took the lead in the 14th minute when Bonseri struck the crossbar. Mascheroni had a close-range shot in the 23rd minute, which Pittarella managed to gather after a fumbled attempt. He once again showed his quality with a diving save in the 26th minute to deny Bolis’ free-kick. As the first half progressed, Milan Futuro surged forward; Asanji’s header in the 40th minute went just over the bar, and in the closing moments of the half, Ibrahimović and Cappelletti had two chances back-to-back, but the opposition’s defense held firm.

The second half couldn’t have started better, with a quick one-two from the Rossoneri breaking the deadlock. In the 48th minute, Sala opened the scoring after capitalizing on a short rebound from the keeper, followed by Cappelletti doubling the lead just two minutes later, finishing off a scramble in the box. Ossola nearly made it three in the 54th minute during a one-on-one with Generali, but the 3-0 came a minute later when Asanji tapped in from close range following an assist from Ibrahimović. After the third goal, the pace of the match slowed, with both coaches making substitutions, yet Milan Futuro maintained their performance level; Sala nearly claimed a brace in the 74th minute with a shot that skimmed the outside of the post. In the dying moments, a Leon goal was disallowed for offside, resulting in the sending off of Evangelisti, Memushaj’s assistant. The match concluded after three minutes of stoppage time, confirming the Milan Futuro victory.
