Lampard: Coventrys Defeat…

Coventry manager Frank Lampard expressed disappointment following his team’s 3-2 defeat at Birmingham, emphasizing that the blame rests solely on their own performance.

Lampard believed the match was within Coventry’s grasp, but the team ultimately fell short by allowing three preventable goals to be scored against them.

In an interview with BBC Radio CWR, he stated: “We should have managed the game better. I always appreciate the effort of the opposing team; when Ipswich visited us, they were on form, and we weren’t, which led to their victory. However, this loss was on us because we had the opportunity to seize control. Given Birmingham’s recent results, it was evident that we could dominate.”

“We had plenty of possession, but we lacked the urgency in our ball movement, so we need to take responsibility for that. The goals we conceded were unacceptable.”

Additionally, Bobby Thomas is set to receive a three-match suspension after being sent off in stoppage time for striking Birmingham’s Phil Neumann. Lampard commented, “I haven’t seen the incident, but if he received a red card, we’ll miss him for three games. If he did something wrong, he shouldn’t have acted that way.”
