Inter Milan has reportedly ramped up its long-standing interest in Lazio center-back Mario Gila.
As reported by Alfredo Pedulla through FCInter1908, the San Siro club has recently made inquiries about the Spanish defender.
While Inter’s interest in Mario Gila is well-known, the Nerazzurri have yet to take significant steps to secure his transfer.
In the meantime, Lazio has not yet initiated discussions regarding a contract extension for the 25-year-old, casting uncertainty over his future at the Olimpico.

Gila’s current contract with Lazio runs until June 2027, putting pressure on the club to address his future as soon as next summer.
Indeed, this may be Lazio’s last opportunity to capitalize on the former Espanyol player unless they manage to extend his contract in the coming months.
However, Gila’s agent, Alejandaro Camano, has been vague about his client’s future, not revealing any concrete plans regarding the player.
It’s also important to note that Real Madrid holds a 50% sell-on clause, meaning they could potentially reclaim Gila at a reduced price.
Additionally, Inter may face competition from AC Milan, whose sporting director, Igli Tare, was instrumental in bringing Gila to Italy four years ago.
