The 27-year-old has been on City’s radar for several months, with the club initially expressing interest during the summer.
Agreements on terms have been reached, and reports indicate that Coffey, renowned as one of the top defensive midfielders globally, has received clearance to travel to England to finalize her move to the Women’s Super League leaders.
Coffey has represented the USA national team in 42 matches and has nearly 100 appearances for Portland Thorns over her four-year tenure with the club.
